Ginny Garzón

After a semester in Australia and falling in love with education abroad, Ginny began her career in International Education in 2006.  A graduate of Augustana University (06) and Jacksonville University (11), she has been spent the last 15+ years helping JU students and faculty make their study abroad dreams a reality. 

Some of her favorite experiences include traveling with JU students and faculty to Iceland, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and England. 

Outside of work she enjoys family time with her 3 kiddos, reading, and being the official taste tester of her husband’s fine cuisine. 

 

Greg Brown

After serving in the United States Army for 4 years, Greg joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard while completing his undergraduate degree. He gained experience in college admissions while a three year member of the UMass Undergraduate Admissions Office. Greg joined the UMass Amherst College of Engineering in 2000 as the Asst. Director of the Multicultural Engineering Program. In the past, he has served as the Director of MEP, Director of Recruitment and Transfer Affairs, and most recently Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. Greg has earned an A.S. from Holyoke Community College, B.A. in History and a M.Ed. in Education- Concentration Student Affairs from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
 
As Assistant Dean, Greg spearheaded efforts to increase the number of STEM students having an Undergraduate International Experience. He believes that no successful effort happens in a vacuum, and our global efforts often begin with self-experience. Greg has visited thirteen countries and five continents and continues to plan to explore different places, cultures, and gain more new “self-experiences”.

Greg and his wife are moving to their new home in Jacksonville, FL from West Springfield, MA. Both are looking forward to spending warmer days exploring the area with a new puppy in 2023. However, when it does snow in New England, they will pour some sand in respect for those who own snow shovels.
